Background

Liz Martin is a Texas-licensed cosmetologist and certified lash instructor. She founded Liz Martin Academy in 2020, after spending years working as a lash and brow technician and watching new technicians struggle with the gap between online courses and the realities of working with real clients. The academy was designed around what she wishes she'd been taught: chemistry, troubleshooting, and consistent execution under live conditions.

Since opening, the academy has certified 200+ graduates — the majority working in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex — and Liz remains the lead instructor on every course.

Areas of expertise

  • Lash lift application and chemistry — including processing variability across lash types, hormonal cycles, and aftercare regimens
  • Brow lamination — shaping, mapping, and product selection
  • Classic lash extension application — isolation, mapping, retention, and client consultation
  • Hands-on technical instruction in both English and Spanish
  • Studio operations and client safety protocols

Credentials

  • Texas Cosmetology License — issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)
  • Certified Lash Lift Instructor
  • Certified Brow Lamination Instructor
  • Certified Classic Lash Extension Instructor
  • 8+ years of professional experience in lash and brow services
  • 200+ certified graduates trained since founding the academy in 2020

Teaching philosophy

"You can't learn lash chemistry from a video." Every student at Liz Martin Academy works on live models with an instructor watching, correcting placement and timing in real time. The academy keeps class sizes small on purpose — it's the only way to give meaningful feedback during the narrow processing windows that lash chemistry actually allows.

The bilingual curriculum is taught the same way in English and Spanish — same depth, same demonstrations, same expectations. We don't translate slides; we teach in the student's language.
